After finding out last week that ModCloth is on ShopStyle, I’ve been downright giddy about the prospect of doing a post on their heels. 

So, it shouldn’t come as a shock that today’s theme is …

ModCloth Laser Sharp Heel – $37.99

I’ve been watching a lot of Miami Vice lately. No, seriously. It’s amazing, and I’m not even saying that ironically. It’s genuinely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, and it’s available for instant viewing on Netflix. My boyfriend and I can’t hear an 80s song now without imagining what scene it would be playing over.

This is just a lengthy preamble to say: these shoes remind me of Miami Vice, but in a good way, rather than in the “Oh my god the 80s had some hideous clothes” way. The bright colors, the geometric design, the shape of the shoe itself all feel 80s, but in a really modern way that I love.

For the record: the fashion on Miami Vice isn’t nearly as  bad as everyone remembers it to be. And there are no popped collars, at least not in the early seasons, which is a weird cultural meme that’s totally untrue. Linen suits with t-shirts, yes. Popped collars, no.

ModCloth Well-Stud-ied Heel – $64.99

In case you haven’t been able to tell, I love bright shoes  and studs. I even made a post about metallic accents a couple weeks ago. Had I known ModCloth was on ShopStyle back then, these shoes would have kicked off the post and broken up what was otherwise a ton of black.

ModCloth Goody Two Shoe – $64.99

I really, really like these shoes (obviously). The contrast of patent leather against a wood heel is great. The  notched design over the toe is unusual and gives it sort of an early 60s secretary vibe. Or maybe it doesn’t and it’s just in my head, but I think that if you paired these with a pencil skirt, you’d have an awesome Joan from Mad Men look going on.
