Apparently, Forever 21 will be opening a new store on 5th Avenue. I’ve already informed them that I’ll be renting a dressing room from them as an apartment. Given the cost per square foot of most NY apartments, I’m guessing the price of a dressing room will probably be more economical than say, a studio in the Village.
Oh man, and now I want Magnolia cupcakes. They opened in LA recently and it’s a very dangerous thing. The cupcakes are like small, pastel clouds of happiness and diabetes.
Right. Point being, Forever 21 is on my mind, right there alongside the cupcakes. It shouldn’t be a surprise, then, that today’s Friday Feets theme is ….
I don’t often wear ballet flats. Most days, I wear Converse because they are easy and I am lazy. The exception to this rule is Forever 21 ballet flats. I don’t often find them in stores, but when I do, I buy them immediately because Forever 21′s ballet flats are seriously amazing. They’re comfortable, they’re light, and they’re really cheap. They only come in full sizes, but a heel liner fixes that problem.
No joke, when I get a pair of F21 ballet flats, I wear them until they get holes and the pleather is worn away on the heels. I wear those things until I (and they) start to look like Amy Winehouse. Despite the fact that I absolutely cannot wear these flats out in public, I refuse to throw them away because I still hold out hope that maybe they’re not so bad, and I can totally get away with wearing them with jeans.
That is how much I love Forever 21′s ballet flats.
These are on the list of things I will be buying when I find out if my unemployment extension has gone through or not.
There’s a movie from the 1920s called Metropolis. It’s about a dystopian city and the struggle between workers and the ruling upper class. Also, there is a robot who does an erotic dance and drives a bunch of men into a homicidal fit of sexual desire. What more could you want from a movie?
The reason I mention this is because the posters all have an art deco style robot on them. These shoes remind me of those posters. And they are shiny, like disco balls for your feet.
Sometimes I have this weird disconnect between things I find appealing and things I like. This is one of those cases: I don’t actually find oxfords appealing. But, at the same time, I’ve come to really like them. So, while I won’t be wearing these any time soon (unless someone can convince me that there’s a way for me to wear them and not look dorky), they’re making Friday Feets, because I kind of like them anyway.
Not my style, but these are so very Gossip Girl – at a not very Gossip Girl price – that I had to post them.
Speaking of Gossip Girl, have you checked you the blog I sometimes write for, You Know You Love Fashion? Each week there’s a new Gossip Girl fashion recap.
My calves are too muscular for most boots, so I can’t wear jeans tucked into boots. But if I could, I’d be all over these for a casual fall look. In my head, I’d be wearing them with a tank top and a big cardigan, and also, I’d be Selena Gomez because she is way cooler than I am and looks eerily like an American Girl Doll.
And now, on to the cupcakes part of the post:
If you make cupcakes, I expect to receive at least one in the mail. Especially if you’re using dinosaur sprinkles, because those look awesome.
Have a good weekend guys! Thanks for reading, see you all Monday.
